There’s an outstanding difference between an exterminator and wildlife control service. They have different priorities. One removes pests quickly, but for the short-term. The other uses more humane options and controls further infestation. They’re commonly confused by homeowners but when it comes to wildlife infestation knowing the difference can be critical.

What’s an exterminator?

Exterminators approach pest problems with an aim toward killing the offenders. They focus on insects, mice and rats. Their go to strategies are poisons and insecticides. Exterminators routinely visit your home killing the pests. It’s more of the classic idea of the individual who gets rid of infestation. It’s not very humane, but it can provide a short-term solution to problems.

By providing a controlled toxic chemical they treat properties on a regular basis. This works for larger infestations specifically bugs. Insects are poisoned in vast numbers to reduce and control their population. However, they spend less time examining the root of the problem. When an exterminator applies their trade there’s no guarantee that situation won’t reoccur in the future. Their process is a continual cycle of knocking down pest populations, waiting for them to return and then knocking them down once again.

This strategy might work for bugs but when it comes to wildlife inside your house a different approach is required. If you have a raccoon in your attic you want it gone and you want to be sure it won’t be back.

What’s a wildlife control professional?

They’re more of a humane option dealing more with larger animals such as raccoons, bats and squirrels. However, they also remove mice and rats. Wildlife control services have a little bit of a different approach. First priority is removing wildlife using humane methods. They’ll determine the nesting location and assist in removing the pests. Also, they’ll reunite babies with their mother on the outside of the home. Effective wildlife control does not require you to kill animals. They release them back into the immediate environment and repair parts of the home that wildlife were using to get in.

A wildlife control professional’s job doesn’t end at removal. They search the building for specific points of entry or high traffic areas for wildlife. They repair any hole or possible entrances. As well, they sanitize and clean any contamination left by wild animals. Other services include insulation replacement, installation of wire screens and repair of structural damage.

How to humanely prevent infestation

  • Keep property clean and clear
  • Remove food sources
  • Seal any entry points
  • Call a professional

Wildlife infestations can result in property damage or illness. Simply killing the initial wave does little to control the problem. Sure, it’s a quick fix, but it’s only for the short-term. If you want animals removed safely and properly contact us.

Social Media Warning (Divulgence of Personal & Private Information)

Social media has provided a platform for internet users to disclose much personal information about themselves, in a way that seems innocuous, if not proper and expected. However, more than a few folks have already lived to regret personal information that was shared either by them or others. This has long been true of simple email. It is exponentially true of social websites and applications for social media on any other website, including this one. You are cautioned against carelessly disclosing information.

3. Indemnification.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless our Buzz Away Wildlife & Bee Removal website, its members, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers and any third party information providers to our website from and against all losses, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, resulting from any use of our website or violation of this Agreement (including negligent or wrongful conduct) by you or any other person accessing our website.

We reserve the right to investigate complaints or reported violations of these Terms of Service and Conditions of Use and to take any action we deem appropriate, including but not limited to reporting any suspected unlawful activity to law enforcement officials, regulators, or other third parties and disclosing any data necessary or appropriate to such persons or entities relating to your profile, email addresses, usage history, IP addresses, and traffic data.

6. Hiring an Investment Advisor, Attorney, or Medical or Other Professional / No Attorney-Client Relationship or Fiduciary Capacity.

Choosing a lawyer, doctor, or investment advisor is a serious matter and should NOT be based solely on data contained on our website or in advertisements.

The law is constantly changing and the data may not be complete or accurate depending on your particular legal issue. Each legal issue depends on its individual facts and different jurisdictions have different laws and regulations. This is why you should seriously consider hiring licensed, professional counsel in your jurisdiction.

Medical issues are complex, and can often stem from both organic and psychological factors. Never should a website be used as a source of diagnosing or treating medical problems.

Financial matters are highly individualistic. Risk tolerance is just one factor to consider before making any investments or financial decisions. For these, and other, reasons, you should look to the guidance of a trained professional, not a website.

You may send us an email, but in no instance will this communication in any way be construed as initiating an attorney-client relationship, or other professional relationship, and so the contact should not include confidential or sensitive data because your communication will not be treated as privileged or confidential.

7. Miscellaneous.

Learn About Matthews, NC

Settled on land in between Charlotte and Monroe, the geographic area now seen on maps as Matthews was originally unspoiled rolling woodlands with an abundance of trees. This land was inviting and rich to the early settlers of the area, primarily farmers in the early 19th century. Trading trails and game-rich hunting grounds were nearby, as well as ancestral homes of both Catawba and Waxhaw Indians. Farmers cleared the land for their planting and quickly discovered that cotton grew pretty well, becoming the most lucrative crop. The nickname of Stumptown came about from many tree stumps left on the ground from early settlement.

Matthews Development & Growth

The population was surging, stores were being built and opening, and Matthews was on the path to turning into a bustling community. Only eight merchants were listed in 1884 Matthews. Edward Solomon Reid built the Reid House in 1890. It’s now mainly used for specialty events in its charming Queen Anne Victorian style. It stayed in the Reid family for nearly a century but is now owned solely by the Matthews Historical Foundation. The late 1800s were when the Funderburk General Merchandise Store got built, and it to this day has the original brick walls and tin ceiling. Cotton gins were quite busy handling local harvests by 1901. The heart of Matthews included a bank, three general stores, a hotel, a blacksmith shop, a livery stable, a gristmill, and a drug store. A privately-owned switchboard brought the first telephones to town for just under two dozen subscribers.

The modern population of Matthews numbers more than 30,000 people. In keeping up the pace with regional development, the city limits of Matthews are now roughly 17 square miles encompassing a hospital, recreational facilities, shopping, restaurants, and hotels. The National Register of Historic Places added 10 downtown buildings from Matthews. Called the Matthews Commercial District, they form a tiny yet surprisingly intact gathering of structures built in the late 19th or early 20th centuries.

In 1880, Matthews counted 191 citizens. Now, the population is over 30,000. Despite that, what was true back in 1879 remains true to this very day: Matthews is a unique place to work, live, and raise your family.

Raleigh was established in 1792 as North Carolina’s capital close to the state’s geographical center. A State Convention was held in 1788 to seek a central location for a fixed seat of government. There were one thousand acres of land that was bought by an early settler of the area named Joel Lane. Lane had come to the region in 1741 with his two brothers. Wake County was established 30 years later when jail and a courthouse were built on a hill in front of Lane’s house. His home became a very popular place for travelers throughout the region to stop at which resulted in Lane helping to get a log church erected called the Asbury Meetinghouse and also building a tavern. The small settlement was called Bloomsbury or Wake Courthouse and was Raleigh’s predecessor.
